This biohack from my biohacking guide literally changed my life and was the first biohack I started doing before I even knew what biohacking was.
When I was deep in the depths of despair from struggling with chronic Lyme disease I was googling like crazy trying to figure out how to get better and I came across this. I was trying to improve my sleep and learn how to get more energy because I was really struggling physically with fatigue and chronic pain and mentally and emotionally with anxiety, depression, and brain fog.
As crazy as this sounded I decided to give it a try and within 2 weeks I was seeing great benefits including way less chronic pain, more energy, better moods from increased dopamine, and less brain fog.
The biohack I’m talking about is cold thermogenesis. If the cold scares you away, I get it. I grew up in the cold of upstate NY and as soon as I graduated college I moved to Washington DC to escape the cold.
This was nearly 20 years later and any cold tolerance I had was long gone but I was so desperate to get better I was willing to try just about anything that would help me. I followed a very simple 3 step process that I learned from Dr. Jack Kruse and was able to do full body submersion in my bathtub in 50F water, eventually working up to 45 minutes.

One of my side effects from antibiotics was weight loss. I went from an already lean 175 pounds down to 140 pounds. I looked completely emaciated and I’ll never forget the look people gave me that hadn’t seen me in a while. It was a look of holy cow…what the hell is wrong with the dude?
With my improved energy I started doing crossfit. Within 4-5 months my weight was up to 180 pounds and I was totally jacked.
