If you take a look at the depreciation process when you buy a brand-new phone, typically what happens is that after you buy it, with time, it starts to lose value, especially at the beginning, after only a few months, it loses almost half of its original value, and eventually you get to a stage where it stops losing that much value.
In order to get the best out of this depreciation effect, what you want to do is buy a phone that’s just slightly older. It could be 3, 9 or even 12 months after it was first released, it depends on the phone or the device you want to buy.
This will allow you to get that device within this sweet spot, where you’re still able to use it for a long period of time, without having to pay too much money for something brand new. And eventually, you can sell that phone before it loses all its value, and start the process again.
You can do this not only with phones, but with all type of electronic devices. Laptops, tablets, cameras, etc.
