Our bodies are naturally supposed to awaken with the light of the sun, and of course retire to sleep with the setting of the sun. Do you do? I don’t think many do any more.
In the mornings our cortisol is at its highest (unless you’re a stress junkie – who isn’t?) and as the day progresses into the night, cortisol should decrease and melatonin should increase…Preparing us for sleep.
I recommend to all my clients to not only reduce their exposer to cell phones and all devices especially two hours before bed, but to invest in a inexpensive pair of blue light blocking glasses to help with the whole process.
